"Dear Nickelus Fury,
I was lucky enough to spend this weekend with your family, a welcomed change to spending this time of year alone. It felt good to talk about you man. I heard a lot of great stories about you, its like Mr. McCarthy says in 'Me and Earl and The Dying Girl'. Even after someone dies, you can still keep learning about them.
Ive found some inner peace in finding out that you used to carry around a joke book when you were younger. i just thought you were naturally funnier than me, its good to know you actually developed your sense of humor over time... cause i still havent caught up to your puns.
I watched WandaVision a few months ago, and while I'm not really a tv series guy, there was one quote that I think will stick with me for the rest of my checkered days. βWhat is grief, if not love persevering?β To lose someone we have lost does not erase the love we have felt for them, it simply moves the object of our love out of reach.
It made me think of you.
My heart really hurts, I'm down bad, and when all is said and done...there will be a few tears shed as time goes on. Time cannot be defeated but I'm going to try and remember that you've taken the wheel Cap, and the heavens are now your seven seas.
Our time together was short, but I had some of the best times of my life with and because of you. Thank you for letting me be your friend.

Years ago Nick went on a cruise, surrounded by people that loved him, for his older sister's wedding.
At some point Nick saw an opportunity to take the wheel and he took it and to this day it's still one of my absolute favorite pictures of him. π
"The ever stoic Nick" was absolutely hilarious once you earned it and I miss his comedic timing.
